Extended Scrolling: October 13, 2023
Welcome, Extended Family! Here are a ten things that we're digging this week at The Extended Play Podcast:
Music:
Pusha T’s collaboration with SE Bikes is tempting E to get another bike. Truthfully, it doesn’t take much.
Bonus: A quick look through King Push’s Instagram turned up that he’s a Gooner and that his son is adorable and loves his dad.
Speaking of the wonders of the internet, this incredible/weird clip of Alan Jackson being a bad ass turned up in our feed. E actually remembers watching this performance, thinking “WTF,” and then forgetting about it for 20 years.
Wilco recently hopped off the tour bus to play a random open mic in Dallas to like five people. Imagine being there. 🤦♂️
Jason Isbell through out the first pitch at an Atlanta Braves game the other night, and then proceeded to simultaneously troll both himself and a professional umpire about his throw.
Because we’re basically a Taylor Swift podcast now, check out this clip of Taylor Swift dancing to Taylor Swift. That’s some Inception shit right there.
From the Episodes:
“Storytellers,” featuring Will Ferrell as Neil Diamond. 😂
Quickly becoming a regular feature in this newsletter: “Old School MC Talks About What’s Wrong with Modern Hip-Hop.” Big Daddy Kane is on to something here though.. (From our two-part episode on hip-hop.)
SUSS - an ambient country group our hosts dig a lot - are in consideration for a Grammy in the New Age(?!) category. (See both “Country, Part 2” and “Critics.”)
That’s it for this week.
